Part of our inalienable right to Health Freedom of Choice is the right to know what products are natural and what products are synthetic (or modified by means such as by adding in alien DNA... quite a different process than the traditional process of selective breeding).
It is the FDA's official policy that since "we all know" (Q: on what scientific basis? A: a decree from President Bush #1 in 1992) that GMO products are safe, no one is allowed to label products as "GMO Free" and companies are not required to tell their customers if their products are GMO infested, even if, for example, pig or cow DNA has been used and the customers are Jews, Moslems or Hindus.
US gov't policy is that no one has the right to truthful information about GMO status, to, we have been told by the US delegate at a Codex meeting a couple years ago, prevent us from making "bad" consumer choices.
That policy is directly contrary to US law. In 2002 Justice O'Connor wrote for the Supreme Court majority, "If the First Amendment means anything, it means that regulating speech must be a last - not first - resort. ... We have previously rejected the notion that the Government has an interest in preventing the dissemination of truthful commercial information in order to prevent members of the public from making bad decisions with the information."

Now that the US is holding the Chair of the Codex Commission for the next three years, what can we expect?

It's official, New York Assembly Bill A 10942, the "worst vaccine bill ever" and the mandatory meningococcal vaccine bill it morphed into late in the session are dead. And they were killed by parents who just aren't going to let pharma kick them around anymore.
Another vaccine bill that would have allowed minors to get vaccines for sexually-transmitted diseases without parents permission or knowledge went down to an ignominious defeat when the Assembly Health committee refused to even consider it.
This represents the fourth defeat in a row, with no wins, for the vaccine industry in New York, last year an mandatory HPV bill was killed.
As usual with most vaccine bills in New York, they were submitted late in the session which limits the time that the opposition has to make arguments against a proposal. The original A 10942 was submitted at the request of the Health Department and would have caused a sweeping restructuring of NY vaccine policy; all CDC recommended vaccines would have become mandatory for all children, including those too young to enter school, and all new CDC recommended vaccines would automatically become mandatory.
A 10942 was greeted by a rally of hundreds of parents from all around the state, many were parent of vaccine-injured children, others though have healthy children and would like to see them stay healthy. A broad cross section of organizations were involved, autism organization, holistic health groups, libertarians, and many others came together for the first time in joint political action. Legislative aides report a flood of phone calls, faxes, letters and emails in opposition.
The legislature responded with scaling the bill back to require the menigoccocal shot for seventh graders. This new version was introduced last Friday and on Monday there were new demonstrations by parents both in Albany and in front of the Long Island office of State Senator Kemp Hannon who introduced the meningitis legislation. The bill died today with the adjournment of the legislature.
Organizers of the successful campaign will be holding meetings and conferences to make sure that in the next session of the legislature that the philosophical exemption bills sponsored by State Senator Frank Padavan and Assembly member Mark Alessi are passed. And in a new twist on vaccines rights, New Yorkers will be working to introduce legislation that will drop vaccines from the mandatory list. The first target will be hepatitis b, a shot given to newborns ostensibly to prevent a sexually transmitted disease.

EU Denies 97% of Health Claims
Without the right to truthful information about nutrition and natural remedies, our right to control our own bodies and our own health is meaningless.
That's why the US Supreme Court, Thomas v Western States said, "We have previously rejected the notion that the Government has an interest in preventing the dissemination of truthful commercial information in order to prevent members of the public from making bad decisions with the information."
That important legal protection... the right to make even "bad" decisions about our own lives, is not respected by bureaucracy anywhere in the world, as we see with the US FDA's continual efforts to subvert Americans' rights by appealing to "HARMonization" with international agency restrictions.
It is certainly not a respected legal position in Europe where the Civil Code treats people like subjects, not sovereign citizens.
A good example is the recent decision of the food bureaucracy to simply deny 97% of all the Health Claims that were presented to it under the EU Food Supplements Directive.
“23-Jun-2008 - The European Commission has culled its gargantuan nutrition and health claims list from more than 40,000 to 1500 as the health claims process moves closer to fruition in January, 2010. … [Some claims] were deemed inappropriate for want of supporting data or were making claims about foods or food supplements that were not legally available in the EU… The nutrition and health claims regulation was enacted last year and seeks to harmonize claims across the … EU's 27 member states…”

New York to Mandate Pharma Forced Vaccine Profits
It was that quintessential New Yorker, Walt Whitman who urged his compatriots to "Resist much, obey little..." Now, however, New York's political class has determined to voluntarily surrender even more state sovereignty. This time the Legislature is running to hide from parents who know their children have been hurt by mandated vaccination and from the US Constitution which reserves the Police Power to the States, not to the Federal government’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices of the Center for Disease Control (CDC).
Under the new forced vaccination law, what is essentially a private-interest (Big Medica and Big Pharma) committee will now mandate vaccinations, up to 78 before a child in New York reaches the age of 18, based on CDC recommendations. Heretofore CDC always claimed that it did not force vaccinations. Rather, enforcement was left to the States. Now New York is surrendering even the semblance of local autonomy.
Why? Because forcing kids to have multiple doses of dangerous drugs has gotten politically uncomfortable for the legislators. This supine surrender occurred despite the admission by CDC that ALL vaccines still contain toxic Mercury (and other toxins). Only the pharmaceutical industry doesn't have to reveal that... since it's only a "trace" of 1 to 3 micrograms, instead of the 30 micrograms previously in the shots; the World Health Organization tells us that even 1 microgram is hurtful... and 78 times 1 still equals a huge poisoning dose of 78 micrograms for each child. So, why are the legislators rushing to surrender their responsibilities? I think we have to conclude that while that the No Forced Vaccination Movement is growing stronger, their Big Pharma paymasters want them to act now, before it’s too late for their profit through-legal-mandates agenda. Your kid is forced to take these potentially dangerous drugs, but don't blame the state Legislature, blame the US Government! And Big Phama pockets the boodle from this uninsurable scheme.
Yes, in the "Empire State" the forms of local autonomy are maintained, even within the reality of Federal bureaucratic control; much as the forms of the Old Republic were maintained in the rotten hulk of the Roman Empire. Clearly those legislators who march in lockstep to the new national order need to be replaced by men and women who are sensitive to the rights of parents instead of forcing their children to undergo the uninsurable risk of mandated vaccination.
So we have to think about the cowardice and stupidity of our elected representatives and ask why they are willing to surrender state sovereignty to the dominion of Big Pharma's lies, while surrendering our well-being. They are turning the Police Power of the State into the Police State of Power!

Attack on Health Freedom in Canada Threatens US Health Freedom
Couldn't have said it better myself, so I'm posting Charles Frohman's comments here:

Some yogis resist politics on 3HO's international kundalini yoga yahoo group, and given the emotions that politics inflames, this moderator agrees on that goal.
Unfortunately, as happens with sages throughout history, although one may wish to just "live and let live," and avoid the sturm and drang of powermongering (politics), sometimes the manipulators won't leave you alone. So you have to strike back, or be driven into oblivion.
This is the case with natural therapies, nutrients and wholesome food, each of which is very important to yogis. Healthy living is the chief competitor to industrial medicine, and the special interests of the latter refuse to let us "live and let live".
I've posted previously on the "guidances" Big Medicine has been able to cajole FDA to publish, dealing with impossible scientific agreement requirements for claims, prohibitions on natural treatments that state licensing cabals condemn, manipulation of risk studies to ban safe nutrients, forced irradiation/degradation of safe food, nondisclosure of genetically altered seeds, dumbing down of organic standards, and bankrupting regulations for mom-and-pop supplement makers. GSK Petitions FDA to end weight control DS claims

More Dietary Supplement Propaganda from Big Pharma
It seems that GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) will stop at nothing to rub out the competition when it comes to weight loss supplements. (No matter what your opinion is on weight loss supplements, this issue affects the vitamin industry as a whole.) A petition to the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has been filed by GSK, which claims that any over-the-counter weight loss product that has not been approved by the FDA is ineffective and has no basis in science. Writes the petition, "Each of these studies concluded that there is little, if any, evidence to support the efficacy of supplements marketed for weight loss."
Furthermore, GSK hopes to remove any weight loss claims from such dietary supplements. It should be noted that there is currently only one over-the-counter weight loss product with FDA approval: the struggling alli. Of course, it should come as no surprise that alli is manufactured by GSK. Indeed, this petition seems to have little to do with the physical well-being of the public and everything to do with snuffing out alli's over-the-counter rivals.
It should be noted that alli has been associated with some fairly disturbing side effects (according to this MSNBC article), yet it still boasts a coveted FDA stamp of approval. Among other things, the supplement can cause anal leakage if one strays from a strict diet of low-fat foods. In fact, GSK even recommends that first-time users wear dark pants and bring a change of clothes with them to work.
This petition, which was filed on April 17, 2008, also had the support of three other organizations: the American Dietetic Association, the Obesity Society and Shaping America's Health. Despite the fact that some over-the-counter supplements may very well be ineffective, there are also many supplements that have been extensively tested, despite the fact that they have no FDA approval.
This petition, which can be read in full here, is an attack on both the First Amendment and our health freedom. The Natural Solutions Foundation has filed a similar petition in protest of Big Pharma's involvement in natural supplements, which can be found here. More Dietary Supplement Propaganda from Big Pharma
It seems that GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) will stop at nothing to rub out the competition when it comes to weight loss supplements. (No matter what your opinion is on weight loss supplements, this issue affects the vitamin industry as a whole.) A petition to the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has been filed by GSK, which claims that any over-the-counter weight loss product that has not been approved by the FDA is ineffective and has no basis in science. Writes the petition, "Each of these studies concluded that there is little, if any, evidence to support the efficacy of supplements marketed for weight loss."
Furthermore, GSK hopes to remove any weight loss claims from such dietary supplements. It should be noted that there is currently only one over-the-counter weight loss product with FDA approval: the struggling alli. Of course, it should come as no surprise that alli is manufactured by GSK. Indeed, this petition seems to have little to do with the physical well-being of the public and everything to do with snuffing out alli's over-the-counter rivals.
It should be noted that alli has been associated with some fairly disturbing side effects (according to this MSNBC article), yet it still boasts a coveted FDA stamp of approval. Among other things, the supplement can cause anal leakage if one strays from a strict diet of low-fat foods. In fact, GSK even recommends that first-time users wear dark pants and bring a change of clothes with them to work.
This petition, which was filed on April 17, 2008, also had the support of three other organizations: the American Dietetic Association, the Obesity Society and Shaping America's Health. Despite the fact that some over-the-counter supplements may very well be ineffective, there are also many supplements that have been extensively tested, despite the fact that they have no FDA approval.
This petition, which can be read in full here, is an attack on both the First Amendment and our health freedom. Co-creating the next wave in health freedom
With every revelation of the escalating failures of federal regulation of food and health care,* the health freedom movement grows and strengthens. Groups and alliances form and reform. Very dynamic social interactions occur on many levels.
The movement grows to the point where the "old hands" who used to know everyone in the movement, especially their nemeses, don't know half the people running online health freedom groups. That's certainly the case with me. I've been around for a while. Starting with the citation of merit the National Health Federation granted me in 1979 and continuing for many years of "laboring in the vineyards..." I never wanted to have the responsibility of being a movement "leader." I'd rather research and write polemics. But here is where I am... researching, writing, trying to help people self-organize to protect their privacy and health.
Well, what does it take to be the health freedom leader? For one thing, it takes "thick skin" and a willingness to forgive people who imitate you and at the same time pretend you were not there... first. Imitation is truly the best form of flattery. Duplicating what we are doing reduces the burden on those of us who have been doing it all, all along.
Perversely, the proof of leadership is found in the numerous attacks on our web sites, blogs and email blasts; it's found in the number of "skeptics" and "quackbusters" nipping at our heels with baseless "spam" charges and the like.
My Natural Solutions Foundation co-trustees and I have brought peoples attention to a number of "new threats" over the past couple years.
Examples: how the Trans-Tasman Agreement (Australia and New Zealand) could be used to take Canada down the wrong Codex HARMonization path. Now, a year and a half later, the equation is being understood: Codex -> Australia -> NZ -> Canada -> US via the NAU (North Atlantic Union)...
How the new wave of pro-vaccine propaganda is justifying a new wave of forced vaccination, like the Maryland courthouse atrocity in November 2007, when hundreds of kids were assaulted with repeat vaccinations because the school couldn't find their records, in a martial law atmosphere of fear and rights denied... now various groups, after ignoring the threat, are forming coalitions and alliances all over the place. Meanwhile, we've brought hundreds of powerhouse advocates together at the No-Forced-Vaccination Yahoo!Groups forum and filed a Citizens Petition with the FTC questioning the veracity of vaccine advertisements and propaganda, breaking new ground in seeking redress through one federal agency to correct the mistakes of another federal agency.

Last year, when others made jokes about the FDA's anti-CAM Guidance (the author of the guidance that would have made hot rocks "medical devices" did say he was "not Darth Vader") we mobilized our Mouse Warriors and saw our Health Freedom eAlert system grow tenfold. Our "netroots" saw the threat of the new regulatory category, CAM Product, created by FDA without Congress's permission -- no other "health freedom advocates" noticed, but after our eAlerts, over a half million people tried to tell the FDA what the agency could do with its infamous guidance... the comment system broke down after about two hundred thousand objections were registered. That guidance still hasn't been finalized, a year later.
And before that we filed a formal Citizens Petition with the FDA and USDA demanding that the FDA stop HARMonizing against restrictions already built into US statutory and case law. There have been near to 200,000 signatories on that document.
In addition to that, we are sponsoring 2 agricultural programs in Africa, and 1 agricultural farm and school in Panama (in concept development). Our International Decade of Nutrition actually can solve problems, including the food shortages that threaten global stability today, 18 months after we initiated this far sighted program specifically to meet world needs for wholesome foods.
We are the only health freedom organization visiting the decision makers in the developing world -- people who can take control of Codex. These include, for example, the then President of India.
And then there is Morgellons and GMOs. But that's new news and others are just beginning to catch on to it. We've started two special forums for GMOs in general and for the frightening possible connection to Morgellon's. And on and on and on.

With more Mouse Warriors we will be more active. I believe we will move from reactive vigilance to more aggressively seeking strong legal guarantees of our basic individual human right to exercise informed, voluntary control over our own lives, including the health care we choose or reject. That is the minimum free people should expect. I doubt there can be any stable world order without respect for such basic freedoms. I know many are ready to fight to preserve true liberty, as though our lives depended on it... as they do.

Vaccine Advertising Truth Petition to FTC Filed
The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) record room acknowledged today that it had received Natural Solutions Foundation's Citizens Petition to the FTC regarding truthful and not misleading advertising of vaccinations. The Petition has been given Miscellaneous Matter Number P002501.
It is expected that the Secretary to the Commission will assign the matter to a Commission attorney. The Petition requests an emergency halt to all vaccine advertising until the Commission can hold hearings and approve appropriate disclosures and disclaimers to prevent the public from being confused by false and misleading claims with regard to vaccines.
Members of the public should be given an opportunity to comment on the Petition and provide to the Commission examples of vaccine advertisements that confused them.

Health Freedom Blog Unblocked!
After being blocked by Blogger since about March 31,2008 this blog has been unblocked. Neither the blocking or unblocking occurred with any explanation, except that a "robot" had tagged the blog as "spam." During the block period the March 31st entry entitled: "Media Blitz Supports Big Pharma Vaccination "Big Lie" Propaganda" disappeared from the blog. It has been reposted.

Below is a copy of a blog I posted at http://vitaminlawyerhealthfreedom.blogspot.com/ on March 28, 2008; it was entitled: “Media Blitz Supports Big Pharma Vaccination “Big Lie” Propaganda.” Within a day of posting, my blog (which, along with Dr. Rima’s blog on this site, are the top two “health freedom blogs” on Google) was marked as “spam” and blocked by Blogger. You can see my previous blog entries, but the blog entry below is no longer on the site and I cannot post new blogs there. They threaten to remove the entire blog. The blog has been marked as “spam” though, when you read Blogger’s spam rule, there is no spam violation; I only posted a couple times in March and had only a couple links in the postings. Why, do you suppose, Blogger and Google, its owner, thinks my little blog is “spam” — must be doing something right!
I am outraged by this blatant censorship. Is Blogger trying to make itself part of the MMD (Media of Mass Deception)? With Blogger pretending that political speech is “spam” and its parent company, Google, kowtowing to tyrants and big business world-wide, why should we trust either? Google’s users tell us that my blog and Dr. Rima’s blog are the top health freedom blogs in the world… so, Blogger, what will it be? Are you in service to speech or part of the control mechanism to suppress speech?
