Leadership in Crisis: Ron Paul's Constitutional Monetary Reform Bills HR.1094, 1098 & 2768!

YES WE CAN!
Balance the Budget & Abolish the Fed, that is...

Action Item to support Free Market Monetary Reform:

Dr. Ron Paul (R - TX) as Chair of the House Monetary Policy Subcommittee, and a leading presidential candidate, has introduced a package of bills aimed at restoring Constitutional Money and saving the United States from the Deficit Downgrade Dollar Debacle brought about by the Boehner/Reid Fed Debt Increase.

The third of the bills was introduced on Monday, August 1st, the same day the current White House occupant signed the Debt Increase law, the day before the Treasury borrowed (on 08.02) another $263 Billion (which may lead to August being the largest Treasury borrowing month ever, surpassing even February 2011).

With the Federal Reserve fiat "dollar" in free-fall against the value of Gold (8.8.11 - reaching up to 1,762 FRNs to the Oz Au overnight) and with the Dow collapsing 512 & 634 points in the biggest drops since December '08, the urgency of real Free Market Monetary Reform becomes all the more obvious. The Market knows the Boehner/Reid Fed Debt Increase is doomed to failure.

Americans ought to reject the Big Lie: namely, that the Tea Party is to "blame" for the S&P Downgrade! Patriots need to Push Back against this disinformation!

IMHO, the way to do that is for Patriots to get behind Dr. Paul's Free Market Monetary Reform bills with the same fervor we got behind the '07 End the Fed Rallys and the 2010 Kick-the-Bums-Out Election.

Patriots need to organize around an issue that can keep us together and in the news as the deception media ramps up the electioneering show, hoping to further marginalize the Tea Party and their natural allies, such as the Constitutionalists, Libertarians and so many others. We need to organize around an issue that positions us to "have the answer" as the hyperinflation escalates.

Free Market Monetary Reform is just the issue... and soon the fiat "dollar" is all anyone will want to discuss, since we will all be caught up in the whirlwind as we reap what the Fed Establishment has sewn...

The Constitutional Monetary Reform Bills are:

HR 1098 which legalizes the setting of legal tender in private contracts; abolishes taxes on gold & silver coin trading.

H.R.1098 -- Free Competition in Currency Act of 2011

To repeal the legal tender laws, to prohibit taxation on certain coins and bullion, and to repeal superfluous sections related to coinage.

http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/z?c112:H.R.1098:

HR 1094 which abolishes the Fed Reserve board of governors and puts it in receivership preparatory to abolition.

H.R.1094 -- Federal Reserve Board Abolition Act

To abolish the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System and the Federal reserve banks, to repeal the Federal Reserve Act, and for other purposes.

http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/z?c112:H.R.1094:

HR. 2768 Would Cancel the Fed Reserve's FAKE TREASURY BOND "PURCHASES" MADE WITH ITS FAKE FIAT "DOLLAR" INFLATION!

Rep. Ron Paul on Monday introduced legislation that would lower the federal government's debt by canceling the roughly $1.6 trillion in debt held by the Federal Reserve.

Paul has argued for the last few weeks that the idea represents a quick way to make the growing fiscal crisis more manageable. Under his bill, H.R. 2768, the $1.6 trillion that the Treasury owes to the Federal Reserve would disappear.

Continued here: http://thehill.com/blogs/floor-action/house/174953-rep-paul-...

The approach that Dr. Paul proposes is a continuation of his overall program to "Legalize Freedom..." as he says.

Please support these bills! Urge your congressional reps to become co-sponsors, like over 300 did with Dr. Paul's Audit the Fed bill in '09.

Here is a short video interview I did with Dr. Paul May 2011 on the issue of Pushing Back to Legalize Freedom:

Health, Freedom and Torture

What is the connection between health, freedom and torture? [Other than the obvious effect on the health and freedom of the victim.]

People who are involved in the holistic healing arts understand that the health of a society is a function of, among other factors, its beliefs and its treatment of the helpless (such as the sick, the poor and prisoners).

The first rule is "Do no harm." And therefore healers must speak out against torture.

Dr. Ron Paul on torture: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Skeom9K8fww

"The government’s own actions and operations in torturing people, and in acting on illegally obtained and unreliable information to kill and capture, are the most radicalizing forces at work today, not any religion, nor the fact that we are rich and free. The fact that our government engages in evil behavior under the auspices of the American people is what poses the greatest threat to the American people, and it must not be allowed to stand."

http://www.voteronpaul.com/newsDetail.php?Ron-Paul-Torturing-the-Rule-of-Law-1097

In other comments the good doctor strongly condemned physicians and psychiatrists who worked for the government torture programs. He remains the voice of ethics and morality, in a govt becoming a vile parody of the evil empires of the past.

"The NBC News analysis shows that more than one quarter of all footnotes in the 9/11 Report refer to CIA interrogations of al-Qaida operatives who were subjected to the now-controversial interrogation techniques. In fact, information derived from the interrogations is central to the Report’s most critical chapters, those on the planning and execution of the attacks. The analysis also shows - and agency and commission staffers concur - there was a separate, second round of interrogations in early 2004, done specifically to answer new questions from the Commission."

This was waterboarding, not to prevent an immanent terrorist attack, but rather to obtain a false "confession" to "justify" a preemptive war of aggression. Clearly a war crime under the Nuremberg Code and under In re Yamashito (the Japanese general in charge of the Philippines who was hung for not preventing war crimes, including the waterboarding of US soldiers).

The only people who can hold these war criminals accountable are the American people. I urge all freedom-loving Americans to accept their personal responsibility to do something about this. We are responsible for the misbehavior of the govt. Refuse to vote for either the right-wing neocons of the (sic) Republican Party or the left-wind neocons of the (sic) Democratic Party. The alternative is to vote for the Principled Third Parties.

http://vitaminlawyerhealthfreedom.blogspot.com/2008/09/political-breakthrough-third-party.html

The health and freedom of our society depend on standing against these evils and the parties that perpetuate them. Nothing less will restore the Republic.

Ron Paul on the Economic Crisis

Dr. Ron Paul, Member of Congress from Texas just sent this email about the economic crisis: http://www.campaignforliberty.com/blog/?p=616

---------------

Dear Friends:

The financial meltdown the economists of the Austrian School predicted has arrived.

We are in this crisis because of an excess of artificially created credit at the hands of the Federal Reserve System. The solution being proposed? More artificial credit by the Federal Reserve. No liquidation of bad debt and malinvestment is to be allowed. By doing more of the same, we will only continue and intensify the distortions in our economy - all the capital misallocation, all the malinvestment - and prevent the market's attempt to re-establish rational pricing of houses and other assets.

Last night the president addressed the nation about the financial crisis. There is no point in going through his remarks line by line, since I'd only be repeating what I've been saying over and over - not just for the past several days, but for years and even decades.

Still, at least a few observations are necessary.

The president assures us that his administration "is working with Congress to address the root cause behind much of the instability in our markets." Care to take a guess at whether the Federal Reserve and its money creation spree were even mentioned?

We are told that "low interest rates" led to excessive borrowing, but we are not told how these low interest rates came about. They were a deliberate policy of the Federal Reserve. As always, artificially low interest rates distort the market. Entrepreneurs engage in malinvestments - investments that do not make sense in light of current resource availability, that occur in more temporally remote stages of the capital structure than the pattern of consumer demand can support, and that would not have been made at all if the interest rate had been permitted to tell the truth instead of being toyed with by the Fed.

Not a word about any of that, of course, because Americans might then discover how the great wise men in Washington caused this great debacle. Better to keep scapegoating the mortgage industry or "wildcat capitalism" (as if we actually have a pure free market!).

Speaking about Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, the president said: "Because these companies were chartered by Congress, many believed they were guaranteed by the federal government. This allowed them to borrow enormous sums of money, fuel the market for questionable investments, and put our financial system at risk."

Doesn't that prove the foolishness of chartering Fannie and Freddie in the first place? Doesn't that suggest that maybe, just maybe, government may have contributed to this mess? And of course, by bailing out Fannie and Freddie, hasn't the federal government shown that the "many" who "believed they were guaranteed by the federal government" were in fact correct?

Then come the scare tactics. If we don't give dictatorial powers to the Treasury Secretary "the stock market would drop even more, which would reduce the value of your retirement account. The value of your home could plummet." Left unsaid, naturally, is that with the bailout and all the money and credit that must be produced out of thin air to fund it, the value of your retirement account will drop anyway, because the value of the dollar will suffer a precipitous decline. As for home prices, they are obviously much too high, and supply and demand cannot equilibrate if government insists on propping them up.

It's the same destructive strategy that government tried during the Great Depression: prop up prices at all costs. The Depression went on for over a decade. On the other hand, when liquidation was allowed to occur in the equally devastating downturn of 1921, the economy recovered within less than a year.

The president also tells us that Senators McCain and Obama will join him at the White House today in order to figure out how to get the bipartisan bailout passed. The two senators would do their country much more good if they stayed on the campaign trail debating who the bigger celebrity is, or whatever it is that occupies their attention these days.

F.A. Hayek won the Nobel Prize for showing how central banks' manipulation of interest rates creates the boom-bust cycle with which we are sadly familiar. In 1932, in the depths of the Great Depression, he described the foolish policies being pursued in his day - and which are being proposed, just as destructively, in our own:

"Instead of furthering the inevitable liquidation of the maladjustments brought about by the boom during the last three years, all conceivable means have been used to prevent that readjustment from taking place; and one of these means, which has been repeatedly tried though without success, from the earliest to the most recent stages of depression, has been this deliberate policy of credit expansion."

"To combat the depression by a forced credit expansion is to attempt to cure the evil by the very means which brought it about; because we are suffering from a misdirection of production, we want to create further misdirection - a procedure that can only lead to a much more severe crisis as soon as the credit expansion comes to an end... It is probably to this experiment, together with the attempts to prevent liquidation once the crisis had come, that we owe the exceptional severity and duration of the depression."

The only thing we learn from history, I am afraid, is that we do not learn from history.

The very people who have spent the past several years assuring us that the economy is fundamentally sound, and who themselves foolishly cheered the extension of all these novel kinds of mortgages, are the ones who now claim to be the experts who will restore prosperity! Just how spectacularly wrong, how utterly without a clue, does someone have to be before his expert status is called into question?

Oh, and did you notice that the bailout is now being called a "rescue plan"? I guess "bailout" wasn't sitting too well with the American people.

The very people who with somber faces tell us of their deep concern for the spread of democracy around the world are the ones most insistent on forcing a bill through Congress that the American people overwhelmingly oppose. The very fact that some of you seem to think you're supposed to have a voice in all this actually seems to annoy them.

I continue to urge you to contact your representatives and give them a piece of your mind. I myself am doing everything I can to promote the correct point of view on the crisis. Be sure also to educate yourselves on these subjects - the Campaign for Liberty blog is an excellent place to start. Read the posts, ask questions in the comment section, and learn.

H.G. Wells once said that civilization was in a race between education and catastrophe. Let us learn the truth and spread it as far and wide as our circumstances allow. For the truth is the greatest weapon we have.

In liberty,
Ron Paul

Educating Congress about health freedom

Last Thursday I took Amtrak to Union Station in DC, met up with health freedom researcher Maury Silverman and our National Solutions Foundation Washington "guide" Charlie Frohman. It was a sunny, late winter day and I thoroughly enjoyed the walk from the station.

We met with Congressional health aides for four members of the House and two in the Senate, both parties (all members of relevant committees). We were also able to speak for a few minutes with the legislative aide of a CA congressman who is also preparing a bill to support health freedom, expanding on Dr. Ron Paul's Health Freedom Protection Act, HR 2117.

After the meetings at the Capitol, we took a quick Metro subway ride to Arlington and the Paul for President HQ. The mostly young staff and volunteers were very upbeat (Mitt Romney had just suspended his campaign) and were very much aware that health freedom was an important issue for the freedom movement they see themselves building over the coming years. In their view, just like Barry Goldwater paved the way for Ronald Regan, Dr. Paul is paving the way for a libertarian President in four to eight years.

Visiting the Capitol with Charlie Frohman - http://www.cfrohman.com/aboutus.html - as our "guide" is always an interesting experience. The people on the Hill listened to our educational message regarding health and freedom, mostly, I am convinced, as a result of their respect for him. I think we are having a positive effect!

One way we can all become more effective is for people to join the eAlert system at our Natural Solutions Foundation web site, www.healthfreedomusa.org — awesome day!

Dr. Ron Paul on Healthcare

Here is a report I found on the Internet about a recent speech given by Dr. Paul -

Ron Paul, M.D. Speaks on Health Care
The Dartmouth Review
Sunday, October 14, 2007
By A. S. Erickson

On September 29th Texas Congressman and Republican Presidential Candidate Dr. Ron Paul, the only candidate who is a doctor, spoke to students of Dartmouth Medical School about his health care platform.

A palpable air of anticipation filled the room prior to Paul taking the lectern. The students in the room, predominately liberal, were actually excited to hear what this Republican had to say about health care. I’ve seen talking heads assign Paul's popularity on college campuses to his stance on the Iraq War (decidedly non-interventionist), but in the auditorium students weren't talking about foreign policy. Instead, praise for Paul abounded based on his honesty and integrity. Students knew that he said what he actually believed, and, if elected, he would act on what he has promised.

Paul began his remarks by telling students that, "the medical system is going well except for a few groups: the patients, the doctors, the hospitals, the labs, and the politicians. Everybody else is happy."

Paul weaved commentary on the current health care situation into a short autobiographical speech. He spoke of getting drafted for the Vietnam War in 1962, fresh out of Duke Medical School. He commented that working for the Army wasn't so bad as his pay went from $195 per month in residency to $700. While in the military he moonlighted three nights a month at the local hospital.“The amazing thing was it was the city hospital and there was no government; there [was] very little insurance and nobody was turned away whether they were illegal or legal, and nobody, nobody was quizzed. If you didn't have the money, you didn't pay, and people came in, and it wasn't that bad. People didn't lay on the side walks. You're more likely to hear stories today of people being neglected in emergency rooms and dying on stretchers because we have managed care.” Paul often came back to this point in referencing the health problems of today.

He is certain that the problems with today's health care stem from too much government involvement, not too little. “"This whole idea that we need centralized economic planning in anything is a fallacy, and it's a temptation to say, 'Yes, we can't have central economic planning for electronics, televisions, and cell phones because we want efficiency of delivery service, but medicine is different.'"

A major problem with today's society, according to Paul, is the confusion of 'needs' and 'rights': "We have rights to our lives and liberty and we have a right to pursue our happiness and we should have the right to keep the fruits of our labor. We have a moral obligation to help our fellow man." That doesn't mean, however, that we have a right to affordable health care.

Paul noted that because of all these governmental programs, "charity work doesn't seem to exist anymore; yet there was a time when there was substantial charity work. We've gotten this way because the government put us this way."

Accordingly Paul warned strongly against socialized medicine, which he feels is just around the corner, i.e. the current push for universal health care. One aspect of medicine that disappears with increased government tinkering is "the doctor patient relationship. That's about dead in this country, and that to me is the most important thing in medicine."
”
The more the government gets involved, Paul explained, the farther we get away from that ideal. Paul was also highly critical of current insurance schemes, claiming that the only things that should be insured are surgeries and other high cost possibilities. Instead of insurance for things like a check-up, Paul favored a medical savings account. "We should allow every individual to take a $3,000 tax credit, and they can put that away and use it to go and pay for their doctor visits. We as a people have really lost confidence in freedom."

He noted that this misplaced confidence made no sense, sighting cell phones as an area where, because of freedom, costs have gone down, and availability has gone up. On the other side of the spectrum is the Katrina/Rita disaster, which was spearheaded by the government.

Perhaps surprisingly for a doctor, Paul encourages more competition in the field of medicine.

Noting that many alternative methods of care have sprouted up in recent years, Paul said the competition would be in the best interest of the patients. The only thing he cautioned against was fraud, i.e. registered nurses putting M.D. behind their names. Once more coming back to his core principle Paul stated, "Politically, I believe in freedom of choice."

When Paul's time at Dartmouth Medical School came to a close, the students responded by giving him a standing ovation. His message was simple: "Under the Constitution, government shouldn't be in medicine.

A message to the House Leadership on FDA reform

The following emails made today's rounds...

SPECIAL ALERT
To: Natural Solutions Foundation eList

Hello! This message is from Ralph Fucetola, JD., one of the trustees of the Natural Solutions Foundation. Dr. Laibow and Gen. Stubblebine are boarding a plane in Europe just about now and they asked me to convey this message to you.

This morning I received an urgent email message from Congressman Ron Paul'sWashington, DC office. The bottom line: a newly introduced bill, HR.2900 should now be a focus of health freedom activities.

We need your help in getting a message through to the House leadership. Please reference HR.2900 and ask that HR.2900 be "brought up under a regular order" to be considered by the House WITH amendments.

The bill is expected to be moved on Tuesday, so this is an URGENT matter.

Speaker Pelosi's office in DC is: (202) 225-4965

Email her at: AmericanVoices@mail.house.gov

Email the following message:
---------------------------
"I urge the House leadership to allow HR.2900 to be brought up under a regular order so it can be fully debated and amended. I support Ron Paul's Health Freedom Protection Act, HR.2117."
---------------------------

Currently the bill is scheduled for 40 minutes of debate and NO amendments, which means Ron Paul's important Health Freedom Protection Act, HR.2117 or other amendments, such as that proposed by attorney Jonathan Emord, would not be allowed to become amendments to this bill. HR.2900 is the House companion bill to S.1082, the FDA "revitalization" bill that breezed through the Senate last month. That Senate bill was amended to protect Dietary Supplements and we want to make sure the House bill will also be amended to protect supplements and natural remedies.

To do that, HR.2900 must be "brought up under a regular order" so it can befully debated and amended. Please forward this widely.

HR 2900 (FDA Reform) is on the SUSPENSION calendar tomorrow. It might be helpful if people called Pelosi, Hoyer, Bonner, and Blunt to see if it can be pulled and brought up under a regular order.
